Common questions.

What is the difference between accidental death and permanent disability?

Accidental death pays 100% of sum insured to your nominee if you die due to an accident. Permanent total disability (PTD) pays 100% if you lose two limbs, both eyes, or become completely incapacitated. Permanent partial disability (PPD) pays a proportion based on the IRDAI benefit schedule.

Is PA insurance the same as term life?

No. Term life covers death from any cause — illness, accident, or otherwise. PA covers only accidents. PA is cheaper and wider for disability, but does not pay out on natural death or illness.

What is the IRDAI occupation class system?

IRDAI groups jobs into 4 risk classes. Class I covers desk workers (safest). Class II covers light field roles. Class III covers construction, drivers, and factory workers. Class IV covers miners, explosive handlers, and similar high-risk professions. Higher risk class = higher premium.

Does PA insurance cover me abroad?

Most standard plans include worldwide cover as standard. Check if there are exclusions for adventure sports, war zones, or countries under government travel advisories.
