What's the minimum cover for a Schengen visa?
€30,000 (~₹27 lakh at current rates) for medical evacuation + repatriation. Cover must be valid for the entire stay + 7-day buffer either side. The certificate must be issued in the policyholder's name with the embassy's acceptable format.
Is travel insurance mandatory?
Required for Schengen, the UK and several other visas. Elsewhere it's optional but highly recommended — a single hospital night abroad can outrun a year's premium.
What counts as a pre-existing condition?
Anything you've been treated for, medicated for or diagnosed with in the last 12–24 months (varies by plan). Declare it up front — we tag plans that cover them for a small top-up.
Can I extend my cover mid-trip?
Yes — most insurers allow one extension up to the policy cap. Do it before the current cover expires, otherwise it's a fresh underwrite.
What if my trip gets cancelled?
